Hence we are celebrating women today. Nigerian women have come of age both as home builders and nation builders too.  We have women in every human endeavours; such as women scientists, captains of industries, jurists, politicians, administrators name it. We are celebrating the achievement of these women. Such women are inspiration to others by their good work.

The international women's day (IWD) was established by United Nations in March 8 1911 as an annual event to celebrate women political economic and social accomplishments. It is a day that we celebrate past, present and future women. This celebration has been on for over 100 years and it is celebrated globally in over 175 countries. Activities are marked by various groups on specific goals such as- gender equality, violence against women, sexual and reproductive health and rights, access to quality education and lifelong learning etc, to mark the event today we are organising a symposium on women affairs which will highlight such critical issues, role of women in the societies, women'

We invite women and our esteemed guest to share knowledge, ask questions as we come together to tackle professional and personal blocks in order to encourage women in all works of life to further success in their works and homes through developing confidence and removing self limiting beliefs/barriers.

Finally, we hope today's events will present some critical women's issues to our diverse audience and allow everyone to get involve regardless of background or commitments. Thus, celebrating the achievements will make a great difference to other aspiring women to advance in their work place and businesses.

Remark by the President of Rosary High School (RHS) Awgu Old Girls Association.
Princess Mrs. Roseline I. Egbo. Permanent Secretary, Enugu State, on the Association's familiarization visit to their Alma- Mater on 22nd October, 2013.

It is an honour and privilege that we gather here today in our Alma-Mater, to interact with the young students and relish our past experience with them.

We are proud to be products of Rosary High School Awgu. Our successes today are because of the training we had from the Reverend Sisters and dedicated Teachers. We are grateful to them.

We praise the present Principal and Management of the school. Despite the present economic and 'social situations where students are day students, you still give parents hope that you can mould students and
groom these girls under your care to be better students and leaders of tomorrow.

To the student, we urge you to be more confidenta in your academic pursuit. Your school training will make you to be a better and useful human being to the society. In this school, you will discover your academic capabilities and skills in social relationship.

Participate in sports for physical fitness, health and alertness. I won a lot of prizes for our school in games especially in Short-put, Javel and Hurdle jump. My name always appear in the news paper then (Daily star), It made
me to have a stronger personality. I also won a lot 'of prizes in quiz competition both Radio quiz and Current affairs.

Respect your teachers, we shall henceforth reward the most outstanding girl in each class with prizes, same with those who perform creditably well in sports. We shall encourage you in your academic performance and
sports. Hand work, is the bedrock of every success. You must work very hard, that is what Rosary High School is noted for. When you leave Rosary High School you move on to your next stage in life.

To the final year students, remember before your admission into the school you seemed empty, but now you are responsible girls filled with dreams and aspirations to impact the world positively. We wish you success. Keep
it up!

To our teachers, teaching is demanding. You face a lot of challenges, but if you are out to do a good work that will make you to be remembered. You need patience, tolerance, love and wisdom. Read widely to update yourselves to meet the yearning and inquisitiveness of the students.
Expose them more to the positive thing of the world. They are our future leaders.

Thanks. It has been a great-experience
May God bless us
Bless our Alma-Mater
Bless our Teachers
Bless our Students
Bless our Nigeria Nation
Amen.

WELCOME ADDRESS PRESENTED BY THE PRINCIPAL OF ROSARY HIGH SCHOOL A WGU ON THE VISIT OF THE OLD GIRLS ASSOCIATION TO THE SCHOOL, ON 22ND OCT 2013.

The President
The Executive Members of Old Girls Association
All the Honoured Old Girls
Ladies and Gentlemen

It is with Joy that I stand here to welcome you to your Alma mater, Rosary High School, Awgu, "Varsity on the Hill" the school you so much cherished and loved to be associated with. When 1 got your phone calls asking of date that would be convenient to us, so that you could visit us, I started having great expectations on how this great occasion could flow.

I asked the old teachers of the school, I was told that the school old girls have a strong association and that you old girls have earlier donated some computer systems and printer to the school, I was so excited, because we wouldn't mind answering Oliver Twist.

I welcome you today, just like amother will always want to visit her children, to find out how they are coping with the challenges of the time. We appreciate your efforts and all your contributions to the progress of the school we say a hearty welcome to you.

I am particularly happy that your association is still waxing strong. I wish that the younger graduates of this school would join the associations so that it will continue to grow from strength to strength and to form a strong force that could help to renovate these old structures or help to attract support from good spirited individuals in our society.

An example could be sited with the old boys of Government College Afikpo, where the old boys in different parts of the country, took it upon themselves branch by branch to renovate the old buildings of the school. However, that is by the way because, I know that our old girls are stronger than the Afikpo Boys because they are more focused.

We thank you for coming and we expect great things from you. We shall always remember you in our prayers. May the Lord continue to bless and guide you in your endeavours. May the Lord also bless your various families in Jesus name. Amen.'
